Beverages and Food

There are twelve fluid and food stations along the course. The first is at kilometer 3.5. After that there will be fluid and food stations approximately every 3.5 kilometers until the finish.
At the finish, athletes will also get drinks and food.

Changing rooms / showers

Available on Sunday from 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at public swimming bath Mythenquai (near to starting and finish area) as well as at the Saalsporthalle from 6:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. A shuttle bus service to and from the Saalsporthalle is provided.


Clothes bag check

The way to the depot is clearly marked within the start/finish area on Mythenquai. Important: Please use the official clothing bags with the sticker number that matches your start number.

 

With your clothing bag coupon, which is attached to your number bib, your family and/or friends can collect your deposited bag after 9:30 a.m. at the clothing bag depot (Mythenquai).


Competition finish line

Both the marathon and the Teamrun will have a competition at the finish line: The team and the runner who will cross the finish line in a very funny way and with a lot of creativity gonna win the competition. The prize for the winning team is a start for free at the 16th Zurich Marathon 2018 plus a starting place for each team member on the 41th Zürcher Silvesterlauf 2017. For the marathon runner there is the same free starts to win.


Course

The course of the Zurich Marathon is not the same course as the European marathon championship course 2014 in Zurich.

Date 2018

The 16th Zurich Marathon, 9th Teamrun and 7th Cityrun take place on Sunday April 22, 2018.


Disqualification

The following actions lead to disqualification: running without a number bib, running without the official transponder, obtaining assistance by a vehicle (bike, inline-skates, etc.) or starting in the wrong starting sector.

Elevation change

The marathon is a very flat marathon with only few meters of elevation change.

Finisher-Diploma

Each finisher has the possibility to receive his/her personal diploma, which can be downloaded cost-free after the race on www.zuerichmarathon.ch. The runners can also order a diploma with their finisher photo on www.alphafoto.com against payment.


Finisher-Medal

After crossing the finish line all runners will receive their medal.

Finisher-Photos

Photographers from Alpha Foto will take pictures at selected photo sites along the race course and in the finish area. Give us your best smile and look forward to beautiful marathon pictures of you and your participating friends. You can view and purchase these pictures after the race at www.alphafoto.com.


Finisher-Shirt

 

All runners who hand in their transponders after crossing the finish line will receive a functional shirt.

This shirt ist available in men's and women's cut from size XS to XL.

 

Finisher-Video

After completing the race, you have the possibility to view your personal and cost-free finisher video at www.irewind.com.


First Aid

Sanitary stations are located in the starting and finish area as well as at each food station. In case of emergency please contact the next race course personnel immediately in order to arrange all further, necessary steps. An emergency unit is located in the finish area. Please fill out the back of your number bib, in order we are able to act quickly in case of emergency.

Hotel

All Marathon-Hotels will provide breakfast from 5:00/5:30 a.m. Of course, the regular breakfast buffets will be available at the normal times as well. All hotels have agreed to a late check-out of 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Info desk

On Friday and Saturday there will be an info desk at the Saalsporthalle.

Friday April 7, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. till 7:00 p.m.

Saturday April 8, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. till 7:00 p.m.

 

On Sunday the info desk will be located at Starting and Finish Area.

Sunday April 9, 2017, from 7:30 a.m. till 2:30 p.m.

Lost and Found

All lost and found items can be dropped off and collected at the info desk at Hafendamm Enge (start and finish area) until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. After that, all items will be delivered to the municipal lost and found office at Werdmühlestrasse 10 (office hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Tel. 044 412 25 50).

The booklet of the 15th Zurich Marathon 2017 appears briefly before the event .


Meeting Point

The info desk in the start / finish area is also the meeting point for the runners and friends.

Pacemaker

Pacemakers will be available for the respective goal times of 3:00, 3:15, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00 and 5:30 hours. They will be running with a green beachflag indicating the time . All pacers are running with a Garmin GPS to ensure that you get to the finish line on time.


Pasta-Party

The Pasta-Party will take place in the Saalsporthalle on Saturday April 08, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Pasta-Party is free for all runners. Non-runners are also welcome. The coupon for the pasta at the Pasta-Party comes with your start number. The price for the pasta for non-runners is CHF 9.-

Runners and visitors are invited to feast, chat and enjoy.

Come and enjoy the great atmosphere at the Pasta-Party. Better you can't prepare for your own marathon!

Ranking list

The ranking list with your split times at 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 of the marathon will be provided after the race on www.zuerichmarathon.ch.

Toilets

Various mobile toilets are available in the starting and finish area. Along the race course there are mobile toilets at each food station. In the city of Zurich and in the lakeside communities are public toilets, which are cost-free for participants. A race course employee may inform you, where the next toilet is located.


Transportation

SWISS RUNNERS TICKET: The entry fee includes free public transport from place of residence to Zurich and back. Further information as of December 15, 2016 on www.sbb.ch/zurichmarathon.

 

The city center will be closed from 8.00 a.m. until 3.00 p.m. The following tram lines are affected by the marathon: 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 13 as well as the bus lines 161, 165, 910 and 912. The Seestrasse will be closed between Meilen and the city of zurich until 2.30 p.m. There are no parking spaces available.


Transponder / Timing

Transponders will be used for time measurement. All participants at the Zurich Marathon will receive an integrated transponder within their number bib. You will find all necessary information regarding the transponder on the back of your number bib. Your time will not start until you cross the starting line. It is important that your transponder is returned to the collectors once you cross the finish line. If there is nobody to take your transponder, please return it at the info desk at the finish area or mail it in a lined envelope to: Datasport AG, Postfach 117, 4563 Gerlafingen. Runners who do not return their transponder will be charged (from May 2017) CHF 60.-. Participants are not allowed to use neither their own personal or other timing devices.


Victory ceremony

The official victory ceremonies at the start and finish area is taking place as follows:

 

10.15 a.m.: Cityrun

11.00 a.m.: Zurich Marathon Elite

1.15 p.m.: Zurich Cantonal Championship

1.30 p.m.: Teamrun

2.00 p.m.: Zurich Marathon all categories

 

The entitled runners will receive a SMS for the official victory ceremonies. We ask all winners kindly to attend the victory ceremonies. Medals and prizes won't be send by mail.
